The Huntsville Education Association is proud to be associated with our parent organizations The Alabama Education Association and The National Education Association. Together with HEA we are members of the United Teaching Profession.
AEA / NEA
In December we send delegates to the Alabama Education Association Representative Assembly. These meetings debate and discuss resolutions brought before the Representative Assembly on behalf of our members. These resolutions create the platform that directs the leadership of AEA. Constitution and Bylaw changes are also considered that direct the governance of AEA.
In June/July we send delegates to The National Education Association Representative Assembly. The new business items debated at these meetings become part of the NEA agenda that directs the NEA leadership. Constitution and bylaw changes are also considered. Election of national officers also occur at these meetings.
